Cutting Horse

The art of cutting was born of necessity on the cattle drives and working ranches of the 1800's. Individual cows had to be isolated or "cut" from large herds for branding, medical treatment or sorting. Certain specially trained horses showed an uncommon ability for separating cattle from the herd. These were the first cutting horses.
